Calcutta is the last place in the world where they still have man-powered rickshaws. So... is it morally worse to get hauled around town by a rickshaw-walla, or not to get pulled around town and deny him his livelihood?

Depends where you are. Bus is cheaper and comes near my house, but is only easily caught at Victoria (Oxford Tube or Oxford Express), although you can attempt to catch it at Marble Arch or Sheperds Bush. The train leaves from Paddington but arrives on the wrong side of Oxford
Most likely I'll stay overnight in London on Saturday. Best from London is bus or train?
