"Majuli is often erroneously cited as the largest river island in the world by the Indian media, but in fact it is merely the largest freshwater island in South Asia."

Take the rickshaw. Carry something very heavy. And fly an huge kite behind you.

Calcutta is the last place in the world where they still have man-powered rickshaws. So... is it morally worse to get hauled around town by a rickshaw-walla, or not to get pulled around town and deny him his livelihood?

I wish I had enough money to short a bucket load of oil right now.

My transfer examiner forgot me. Now I have the 'opportunity' to add to my report and come back from Cambridge to get viva-ed. Wonderful

Amidst all the political gloom today, the Labour candidate for the London Assembly in Brent and Harrow has been elected, overturning a Conservative majority, bucking the national trend. Need I point out that one Alex Mayer was organising his campaign?

Depends where you are. Bus is cheaper and comes near my house, but is only easily caught at Victoria (Oxford Tube or Oxford Express), although you can attempt to catch it at Marble Arch or Sheperds Bush. The train leaves from Paddington but arrives on the wrong side of Oxford

Most likely I'll stay overnight in London on Saturday. Best from London is bus or train?
